New infrastructure adds approximately 2 MW of solar capacity and 5.4 MWh of battery energy storage as TeslaWatt prepares for its next phase of growth
TONOPAH, Nev. — August 2026 — TeslaWatt today announced the successful completion of the second generation of its 100% off-grid solar-powered computing infrastructure in Tonopah, Nevada, marking another significant milestone in the company’s continued expansion.
The newly completed infrastructure includes approximately 1.88 MW DC of solar generation capacity, 5.44 MWh of battery energy storage, and 1.07 MW AC of inverter capacity.
Designed and built as a fully off-grid system, the project integrates solar generation, battery energy storage, advanced power management, and high-density computing infrastructure into a single platform. The system provides dedicated power for TeslaWatt’s computing operations without reliance on the traditional utility grid.
The completion of the second generation builds on TeslaWatt’s first solar deployment in Tonopah and reflects the company’s continued investment in energy infrastructure designed specifically for high-density computing.
Building Toward 2027
With the second generation now operational, TeslaWatt is already preparing its next major infrastructure project planned for 2027.
The next development is expected to further expand the company’s energy generation, storage, and computing capacity. As part of this expansion, TeslaWatt plans to dedicate a portion of the new infrastructure to artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC) hosting.
The rapid expansion of AI and high-performance computing is creating significant demand for both computing capacity and the energy infrastructure required to support it. TeslaWatt believes its experience developing and operating power-intensive Bitcoin mining infrastructure provides a strong foundation for supporting these emerging workloads.
Bitcoin mining will remain an important part of TeslaWatt’s operations. At the same time, the company intends to leverage its experience in renewable power generation, battery energy storage, electrical infrastructure, cooling, and data center operations to support a broader range of computing applications.
Expanding the TeslaWatt Platform
The completion of the second generation represents more than an increase in capacity. It is another step in TeslaWatt’s broader strategy to develop energy and computing infrastructure as an integrated platform.
Access to reliable and cost-efficient power is becoming increasingly important as AI and other high-density computing applications continue to scale. TeslaWatt’s strategy is to build the energy infrastructure alongside the computing capacity, creating a flexible platform capable of supporting different workloads as technology and market demand evolve.
As the company moves toward its planned 2027 expansion, TeslaWatt intends to continue investing in renewable generation, battery energy storage, power infrastructure, and computing capacity while expanding into new segments of the data center market.
Additional details regarding TeslaWatt’s 2027 development and AI/HPC hosting strategy will be announced as plans progress.
